Spring is the time to take action to protect against poor indoor air quality. This is also the perfect time to prepare your HVAC system for the warmer weather ahead. You should have your HVAC system serviced and checked for proper operation. It is also especially important to clean your outdoor air conditioning unit, which will most likely be dirty from the winter weather. Spring pollen, which can greatly affect your efficiency, should be cleaned off your unit as well. Additionally, air filters should be changed.Here is the spring HVAC maintenance checklist our technicians use:

  • Check voltage and amperage readings of motors
  • Check air temperature drop across coil
  • Lubricate all moving parts
  • Adjust belt tension if needed
  • Clean condenser coils
  • Check pressure switches
  • Check thermostat operation
  • Check condensate drain
  • Check high and low voltage
  • Check contactor
  • Check sub cooling and super heat
  • Check compressor voltage and amp draws
  • Check capacitor MFD
  • Clean condenser coil
  • Remove debris from condenser
  • Clean electrical area
  • Wash/Replace Filters
  • Check indoor Delta-T
  • Check defrost board
  • Clean and polish condenser
