Does the Ozarks’ hard water affect my plumbing?
Yes. The Ozarks limestone geology means our region’s water has naturally high mineral content. Over time, calcium and magnesium deposits build up inside pipes, water heaters, and fixtures. This reduces water flow, shortens water heater lifespan, and causes scale buildup on faucets and showerheads. A water softener can be a long-term solution — we install and service water softener systems and can test your water hardness.
How do I know if my home needs repiping?
If your home was built before the early 1960s and hasn’t been repiped, you may still have galvanized steel supply lines. Signs include gradually declining water pressure, rusty or discolored water when you first turn on a faucet, and visible corrosion on exposed pipes in the basement or crawl space. We can inspect your system and let you know what you’re working with — no charge for the estimate.
